The most authentic plans in Navarra

Go through the ways of Señorío de Bértiz

Rural Navarra is full of truly authentic corners that, cared for by those who make such personal tourism, are kept as secrets only revealed to visitors who want to know our territories by practicing sustainable tourism, close and friendly to the environment.

The care that the towns have dedicated to their parks, forests and environments, have led to many of them being declared Natural Parks, seeking to maintain their unique essence.

One of the most famous places in Navarra is the Señorío de Bértiz Natural Park, located north of Navarra in the town of Oieregui. Thanks to the passage of the Bidasoa river and because it is one of the rainiest areas of Navarra, you can walk its roads and forests surrounded by the green of its vegetation, mainly composed of beech trees in the lower area of the mountains, and by meadows and other formations in the highlands.

One of the activities that I recommend the most is to travel the Bidasoa Greenway with bicycles, which follows alongside the river through its exuberant landscapes until you reach the Bértiz Natural Park or follow other routes where you will find, not only the great beauty of the natural environment, but that of the towns that make up his territory, with their characteristic architecture in the houses and buildings of the northern valleys of Navarra, and its people, always ready to welcome anyone who wants to learn more about our roots.

Any season of the year is good to visit the park, each one with a unique essence: in the summer months you can admire the green of the vegetation in all its splendor after the rainiest months; In mid-autumn, that green turns into reds and ocher, being a good time to observe the migratory movements of numerous birds, among which are the seven types of woodpecker sighted in the peninsula, as a sign of the good conservation of the park at an ecological level.

If what you want is a truly ecological and sustainable experience feeling the heartbeat of the forest, this park and the environment that surrounds it, it is your destination.
